It’s all going so quickly, and if you’re anything like me, before you know it, it will be May and you’ll be trying to figure out what to get your Mom for Mother’s Day.  Every year, I encounter the same problem.  No matter how early I promise myself I’ll start figure out what to get her, I always end up scrambling.

So you don’t end up scrambling, I can’t imagine a Mom who wouldn’t love a portrait session.  Either for herself or for your family, celebrating the relationship you have with your mother is something she’ll cherish for a long time.  Contact me for more details!

I took these when he graduated from basic training…

I wrecked my car on the 16th.  While, I only suffered a few bruises, I’m probably going to be in the market for a new car.  Never having gone through this before, it was fairly frightening and I’m thankful my Dad was around to pick me up, chauffeur me around, and provide a much needed hug.  Since then, I seem to be a bit out of sorts.  I’m getting work done, but the stress of having to find a new car is starting to get to me.  Maybe that’s just an excuse and I’ve got a bit of the winter blues.  I’m so incredibly frustrated that we have no snow.  There…I said it!  I’m not a huge fan of the fluffy white stuff on the roads, but seeing all this brown is definitely less than exciting and it doesn’t make for great photo opportunities.

That commitment to photography I made back in January hasn’t been easy.

This weekend, my friend Angie from university came to Guelph for a visit.  I always find it so rejuvenating talking about art and it really gets me excited.  We walked around downtown Guelph and I took the three images below at B Chocolate on Carden Street.  I tasted the best hot chocolate I’ve had since living in Montreal and hanging out with my friend Alyssa at Juliette et Chocolat, and I was reminded of the romance of downtown Guelph.  It felt like a little pick-me-up since feeling so blue.

This month my availability has changed a bit.  I’m now really excited to be available in the evenings to meet for consultations and once the days get longer, I’ll be happy to schedule magic hour portrait sessions from Monday to Friday!  Please contact me if you’d like to schedule a session. I know this post has been a bit all over the place, but I’ve been itching to write something for the last few days…I hope your week is fabulous.

**EDIT** I just read this post again and realized that it sounds like I’m fairly depressed.  It’s funny, I was actually feeling pretty ok writing it, but somehow I managed to bitch about the weather, bitch about being stressed, and bitch that I’ve let myself down by not posting the last two Fridays.  When I started writing today, I didn’t think this post would become a bitchfest, and I certainly never meant for my blog to have this tone.  I loved this weekend.  I love the three images I’ve posted above.  (I hope you love them too.)  And I love that I didn’t censor myself.  This post was me.  It was how I was feeling when I wrote it, so I’m not going to change it.  Everyone has off days.  I had an off week…it’s just part of who I am.
